Quiet day in Hoi An-Almost

Monday 17th March 2014. Hoi An.

There is not too much to report today in our South East Asia adventure as, for most of it I have been asleep or confined to the Hotel room feeling ill. I always feel that on any journey I should be out there squeezing every moment out of the day so I have no regrets when I get back.
Unfortunately illness sometimes strikes so I have written off today and hope to get a full day out tomorrow.

So far today, and its 7.30pm here I have eaten 2 tiny pieces of toast had a cup of coffee and then, on our walk around we paid for some fruit from a local trader with her bamboo shoulder pole.
We had the tiny bananas so typical of this area and another delicious red spiky fruit called Rambutan. It was superb.

On our short walk we did manage to buy a nice pair of sunglasses each. We booked our sleeper bus tickets for Wednesday evening and found the famous Japanese bridge at long last. One of the most photographed icons of Hoi An.

The only other thing worthy of note is in the building opposite our hotel someone died yesterday and they have a group of musicians there who have kept up an almost continuous dirge that started at midnight last night and apparently goes on for 4 days no stop. Nice !

As a photographer I just lust after the possible locations here in Vietnam. The lighting is soft of an evening and the textures and colors are amazing. There is almost always some wedding or photo shoot going on around the old colonial town. I would love to capture wedding photos here.

Well I am sorry there is not much excitement to report today. Hopefully tomorrow there will be more strange & quirky things to report on. X
