Vinpearl. Simply amazing.

Friday 21st March 2014. Nha Trang-Vinpearl

I woke early this morning with more stomach trouble. I was not hopeful of a great day because yesterday in Nha Trang was not the best and I thought unless we find something to do, we could be stuck on the beach again wasting the time we have here.

I booked our bus tickets for Dalat on Saturday morning and also our  hotel before deciding that if this is a tourist town then we have to do what the tourists do. Just for one day at least. What a surprise we were in for.
Vinpearl-Hollywood style

5km up the road from our hotel is the longest oversea cable car system in the world with a total length of 3320 meters joining mainland Vietnam to Vinpearl land. A giant theme park on an nearby island.
It would be a shame to be so near the cable ride without taking the plunge so, more in hope than expectation I purchased 2 tickets for one million dong. About £28.00 and we jumped in a cab to the cable port.
The longest over sea cable car system in the world. In Vietnam !

The ride on the cable car itself was worth the money alone. Spectacular views from up to 60 meters in the sky towards Vinpearl. The name in giant white letters in the hillside Hollywood style.
On arrival we went on a few rides, the bumper cars and some swingy things and  roundabouts and then we started to look around. This place just has to be the best theme park I have ever visited. It was massive.

Also in Vinpearl there is a giant Aquarium called underwater world. It was spectacular with all sorts of strange sea creatures including sharks. Again this alone was worth the entrance fee. There was a 4d cinema that had the Japanese tourist getting excited.  Dolpin world, animal shows and arcades.

Outside the water park
Huge water slide
We moved on to waterworld that, because we got there late we didn't have time to sample
There is so much here you could easily spend a full day here it was fantastic.
Our final ride took us on the Alpine coaster ride. A small two man bob sleigh on rails that rises up the mountain and then hurtles back down winding in and around the rocks and waterfalls.

Like a couple of kids. Our ride down the mountain photo.

Then after a small bite to eat we were back on the cable car back to the mainland as the sun came down.

All in all then not a bad day at all. Now we start packing again for the four hour bus ride to Dalat. A town  in the central highlands that is a total contrast to Nha Trang.  It was originally the playground of the French and it says on Lonely Planet that you could almost imagine you are in the French Alps in springtime. Sounds nice.
